Spotlight Theatre Dance Studio - Exam Procedures

 

Arrival Time

Please ensure you arrive 30 minutes before the time stated on the timetable, exams do not always run to the exact times, so please be prepared to wait in case they do run late. If you require a member of staff to dress your child’s hair please arrive 45 mins before exam time. Please note; once the Exam Timetable has been posted on the wall, these times Cannot Be Changed.

Uniform – Ballet

Rosettes - Ballet, Black Ballet leotard, Black Skirt, Plain white ankle socks or pink ballet socks with clean pink ballet shoes. Hair neatly tied back or if short with a pink ballet hair band.

Up to Grade 1 –         Black leotard

                                      Black skirt

                                      Pink ballet or plain white ankle socks

                                      Clean pink ballet shoes with elastic

Grade 2 & above -      Black leotard

                                      Pink ballet tights

                                      Clean pink ballet shoes with elastic

Grade 5 & above -      Burgundy Leotard with Pink Ballet Tights

                                       Clean Pink Ballet Shoes with elastic

Hair – Neatly in a bun (if long enough) or ponytail, fringes must be taken back! No coloured or frilly bobbles etc!!!

Tap

Rosette - Tap Black Ballet leotard, Black Ballet skirt, plain white ankle socks, Tap shoes, Hair neatly tied back.

Up to Primary -            Black leotard

                                      Black skirt

                                      Pink ballet or plain white ankle socks

                                      Tap shoes with laces

 

Grade 1 & above -       Black leotard

                                      Black tight leggings (No Jazz Pants)

                                      Plain white or black ankle socks

Tap shoes (From grade 2 shoes must have teletone taps on.)

Hair – Neatly tied back in a ponytail, plait or French plait.

Theatre Craft

Rosette and PreparatoryTheatrecraft As for Ballet

Primary and above

As for Tap plus ballet shoes with elastic, tap shoes will be required also, grade 3 & above will require character shoes in replace of tap shoes.

Modern Jazz

All grades – either black uniform, unitard or brightly coloured leotard and tight leggings. Bare feet (no shoes allowed)

Hair – Neatly tied back in a ponytail, plait or French plait.      

Freestyle

Black uniform or brightly coloured leotard & leggings or jazz pants & smart vest top / T-shirt (to be approved)

Ballet shoes, jazz shoes or dance sneakers / clean trainers may be worn.

Hair – Neatly tied back as above.

Musical Theatre

Performing Arts T-Shirt, Black Jazz Pants or Black leggings or Smart black trousers, Black Jazz shoes or dance sneakers or Ballet Shoes.

Hair - Neatly tied back in a ponytail, plait or French Plait.

Please note – regarding all branches:-

No make up is required, No jewellery is allowed, No nail varnish is allowed, No Hair Braiding or Hairdyes, No skin transfers.

 Also please remember that examinations are running throughout the day so bare this in mind when entering and vacating the building.
